What Are the Benefits of Rhinoplasty?

  • Remove Dorsal Hump: Rhinoplasty can reduce or remove a hump or bump on the bridge of the nose.
  • Correct Asymmetry: Rhinoplasty can improve facial balance by creating more symmetrical nose contours.
  • Reduce Size: Nose surgery can reduce the size of the nasal tip, bridge, base of the nose, and/or nostrils.
  • Enhance Facial Balance: Rhinoplasty can bring harmony to the face by sculpting a nose that adds to the beauty of facial features instead of distracting from it.
  • Improve Function: For those that have breathing problems, rhinoplasty can significantly improve airflow, eliminate sinus problems, reduce snoring, and prevent obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  • Correct Deviated Septum: Breathing difficulties related to deviated septum can be fixed with a septoplasty which can straighten the nasal septum and widen the nasal passages.
  • Boost Self-Confidence: Nose surgery can dramatically enhance self-esteem for those with cosmetic concerns about the shape and/or size of their nose.

Open vs Closed Rhinoplasty

Open vs Closed Rhinoplasty

What's the difference?

There are two types of rhinoplasty surgery: closed, scarless rhinoplasty and open, structural rhinoplasty. A closed rhinoplasty is typically performed in instances where the dorsal hump is reduced, the upper bridge is narrowed, or the septum is straightened to improve airflow. For more complex cases or revision rhinoplasties that require tip elevation or cartilage grafts, an open rhino is often necessary to give patients their ideal outcome. During a rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Hussain, he'll always first ask patients what bothers them about their nose to see if their vision aligns with what he sees, ensuring that he can deliver their desired results.

Dr. Hussain took care of an aesthetic concern of my nose that has bothered me for several years. He was patient and explained complex medical concepts in easy to understand terms. The scar was imperceptible within 2 weeks without anyone knowing what I had done. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for exceptional facial aesthetics delivered with compassion

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you have concerns about the shape or function of your nose, or are unhappy with a previous nose surgery, rhinoplasty may be right for you. Ideal candidates for rhinoplasty are non-smokers, physically healthy, and have realistic expectations.

Rhinoplasty at Cassileth Plastic Surgery involves the careful study and calculated alteration of a patient's unique features, adjusting the interplay between various angles—nasofrontal, nasolabial, and nasofacial—so that the nose is in proportion and symmetrically aligned with the rest of the face.
